On Friday July 8th Adam Hammer and Dave Cofell are coming to the Rail River Folk School with their longstanding Folk ‘n’ Blues Show. The Folk ‘n’ Blues show will be an evening of progressive folk, blues and their own blend of “black and blues.” We are pretty excited.
The show will feature special guest guitarist and songwriter Nathan Ness. He, as well as Adam and Dave, hail from Central Minnesota and the St. Cloud area, but they all have some connection to Bemidji.
The duo was voted Best Original Music in the St. Cloud Times’ annual Best of Central Minnesota reader’s poll four straight years. Both of their 2012 solo releases, “Broken Like You” and “No Substitute (For You),” spent time in the top 10 of the CMJ charts at 88.1FM KVSC in St. Cloud. New releases are planned for later in 2016.
Their live show features a song-for-song format where they back each other up on acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica, lap steel and the occasional kazoo among other instruments.
Sounds like a fun show 🙂
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Early bird prices can be found here. If you Purchase the advance ticket with download , which is only $12, you can get a 10-song download from Adam Hammer and Dave Cofell. Download the music, listen to them before the show — it sounds like a pretty fun deal.
Come enjoy your Friday night with us folk 🙂
